The Gidayu Association is dedicated to teaching the traditional art of Gidayu. Gidayu is Japanese ballad-drama, an integral part of Kabuki and Bunraku, and a powerful form of theater in its own right. In Gidayu, a chanter sings and narrates a story while accompanied by a shamisen (a 3-stringed instrument). If you love singing, telling stories, traditional Japanese theater, or shamisen, consider giving us a try!
